Governor of Oregon
If we are going to successfully re-engineer education in Oregon, then we need to constantly build meaningful connections and interactions between education, business, and industry.

Make Learning Real for K-12 Students
Bring Math and Science to Life!
Partner with the Business Education Compact (BEC) to bring your engineers front and center in the classroom through the National Engineers Month (NEM) program. Each February, engineer volunteers show students how math and science are used in the “real world,” visiting hundreds of Oregon & Washington classrooms. Student motivation to excel in math and science soars when they learn of the exciting careers that await them!
With just 45% of high school students achieving basic math and science standards, these real-world classroom connections are more vital than ever. NEM infuses student learning with relevance and ignites the imagination of our future engineers! Help us stimulate our kids to pursue studies in math and science.
